ANT 311 - Native Americans and the Native Caribbean

Prerequisite(s): ANT 201WI  or ANT 220 .
This course is a survey of the origins and cultural development of indigenous people in North America and the Caribbean. Students will develop an understanding of the cultural diversity represented by indigenous societies of North America and the Caribbean, the development of these societies through time, and the consequences of colonization by Europeans on these societies.
