COM 320 - Writing Criticism for Media Studies

Credits: 3

Prerequisite(s): COM 208  and COM 235 .
This is a course in the writing of cinema and media criticism. A variety of cinema and media texts (word, image, sound) will be studied in order to open up discussion on approaches to media criticism. Two primary tools - essay writing and analytical reading - are essential to the goal of students creating thoughtful and well-argued cinema and media criticism.
