MAT 323 - Statistics II Credits: 3
Prerequisite(s): MAT 223 . This course is a second course in statistics that applies tools from MAT 223 to develop a variety of statistical methods that can be used to make decisions with data in the real world. This course is intended to be accessible to students without a strong mathematical background, as no concepts beyond basic algebra are required. Topics covered in this course include confidence intervals and hypothesis testing for comparing two samples, contingency tables and chi-square tests, analysis of variance (both one-way and two-way), simple and multiple linear regression methods with emphasis on inference, and nonparametric statistical methods with applications. This course is typically offered in the Spring semester only.
