LAS 203 - Introduction to Latin America Credits: 3
This course serves as an introduction to the history of Latin America from pre-Columbian to the present day. A variety of issues including economics, democracy, racism, class structures, gender, ethnicity, human rights, globalization, and popular movements will be examined. Specific emphasis will be placed on the way in which Latin Americans view themselves and how their culture, economics, and politics have developed in differently than the United States and Europe.
