EDD 470/570 - Methods of Teaching Language to DHH Students Credits: 3
Prerequisite(s): EEL 301 , EDD 349 , EDD 370 , Admission to the Education Department Principles and techniques of teaching language, reading, and writing skills to children who are deaf and hard of hearing in grades four and beyond. There is particular emphasis on the teaching of reading and literacy skills with students who are deaf and hard of hearing.
This course is conducted in American Sign Language. This course addresses state and national certification standards required for students enrolled in the undergraduate Deaf Education Program.
A 30-hour practicum in a self-contained classroom or itinerant setting is required. Offered Spring as an 8-week online/face-to-face hybrid course
