Prerequisite(s): SOC 101WI .
The nature of the aging experience as it is shaped by the social context in which it occurs. A review of the historical, philosophic, and demographic aspects of aging, theories of social gerontology, cross-cultural perspectives on aging, and the sociology of retirement.
