POS 413 - Political Communication Credits: 3
Prerequisite(s): COM 224 or POS 221WI This course examines communication between members of the public, the media, advocacy groups, and politicians, and presents politics as rhetorical performances that shape democracy. More specifically, this course focuses on the research, planning and messages that constitute contemporary presidential political campaigns and the “rhetorical” presidency. We will investigate the theories that have shaped these rhetorical practices to both critique and produce political persuasion. COM 413
