CIS 205 - Application Programming I


Credits: 3

This course is an introduction to fundamental concepts in computer programming particularly as they relate to business applications. In the course, students will develop an understanding of programming techniques and learn to use basic programming structures to solve problems. Students will be introduced to the object-oriented (OO) programming paradigm and application development life cycle, including data types, classes, objects, methods, properties, making decisions, repeating instructions and arrays. Upon completion, students should be able to design, code, test, and debug basic computer programs based on application requirements using a modern object-oriented programming language. As much as possible, student programming projects will be representative of typical real-world business applications. Fall semester. A lab fee is required for this course.
