Finance Major

The finance major is for students interested in obtaining a global understanding of the financial markets, an ability to value real and portfolio investment assets, an understanding of how to hedge financial risks, and an ability to make informed financial management decisions. The core courses comprising the finance major include a unique combination of focused coursework in financial management, investments, international finance, economics, and accounting. Accordingly, the core program of study is designed to provide the finance graduate with the requisite set of skills necessary for all major areas of finance, while including a valuable understanding of the related fields of economics and accounting. Graduates with a major in finance are well-prepared for careers in corporate finance, wealth management, insurance, banking, and real estate management, among others. Students completing the requirements for a Finance major will receive a Bachelor of Science degree.
