The Hospitality and Tourism Management (HTM) major will prepare students for a management career in a multibillion-dollar industry. Graduates with this degree will be prepared for entry level professional positions in food, beverage, attractions, entertainment, events, and tourism management and have the foundation for more senior management positions as their careers advance. The Hospitality & Tourism Management major consists of 69 student credit hours, including an internship. The major will prepare graduates with 33 hospitality and tourism foundation hours of coursework created to give students exposure to the major areas of the hospitality and tourism discipline along with 18 hours in foundational Business Administration courses, and 18 hours of Professional Development elective hours to include class options in Foreign Language, Liberal Arts, and other in-depth areas of the hospitality and tourism industry. Within the 33 Hospitality & Tourism Management credit hours, students engage in a professional development apprenticeship program with local business partners in St. Augustine during their sophomore year. Students are also provided an opportunity to select various elective courses in order to concentrate / specialize in one of the following hospitality and tourism areas: Food & Beverage, Lodging, or Events & Tourism Management.
