The Spanish Minor requires the completion of 21 credit hours (7 courses) starting with the Intermediate Spanish course.
Native speakers are required to complete five (5) courses in Spanish starting with any course above SPA 305. They are exempted from taking the placement test and can receive 6 credit hours after completing a course with a B or higher.
Heritage speakers must take a placement test to determine the course level.
SPANISH PLACEMENT EXAM
A placement exam is offered in Spanish that can be taken at any time by contacting cace@flagler.edu. If a student is placed into a higher level Spanish course, he/she can earn up to 6 credit hours when passing the class with a B or better.
Native speakers although exempted from the placement test can earn 6 credit hours for lower-level after they earn a B or better in a higher-level course.
STUDY ABROAD
All majors and minors are encouraged to participate in Flagler College study abroad. Only six (6) credits can be applied to a Spanish major and three (3) to a minor. See the Center for Global Education for information and further planning.
