International Business Major

Return to {$returnto_text} Return to: Programs of Study (A-Z)

The International Business major will prepare students for successful careers in business through a program of study that focuses on an examination of the unique complexities of operating a business in an increasingly interdependent and global environment. The major includes a broad overview of business concepts and international-focused coursework, designed to provide students with a firm foundation in international business decision-making, proficiency in a foreign language, and a valuable perspective on the importance of cultural considerations. As an important additional component of the program, students participate in an international experience through a study abroad or international internship.

International Component

International Component courses include 21 hours of international-focused courses.

International experience and language requirement

In addition to the required coursework, an international experience (met with either a study abroad or international internship) and proficiency in a foreign language at the 200 level is required. Student exchange opportunities exist with partner business schools to facilitate the international experience. Flagler College international students are deemed to have already met the international experience requirement. Students are strongly encouraged to complete the coursework for the French or Spanish Certificate.
