Elective Courses (At Least 13 Hours)

To meet the minimum 120-hour graduation requirement, Elementary Education majors must take at least 13 hours of electives. Students are encouraged to consult with their academic advisors regarding relevent elective course selections. Recommended are courses that provide or reinforce knowledge and skills that will contribute to becoming an effective teacher. Also, note that careful selection of elective courses can lead to a minor (e.g. Biology, Coastal Environmental Science, Mathematics, Psychology, Sociology), making Elementary Education majors more marketable.

Note

Some courses require admission to the Education Department and/or other prerequisites. Also, some courses are offered only in fall/spring or even/odd semesters. This information can be found by accessing individual course descriptions.
