The Elementary Education program provides state-of-the-art curriculum paired with hands-on experiences and opportunities to engage in real classrooms. All Elementary Education majors at Flagler College are trained to give instruction in elementary areas including reading, language arts, mathematics, social studies and science.

Program Coordinator: Dr. Sandra Davis

Elementary Education Courses (24 Hours)

Department Required Mathematics Course (3 Hours)

Elective Courses (At Least 19 Hours)

To meet the minimum 120-hour graduation requirement, Elementary Education majors must take at least 19 hours of electives. Students are encouraged to consult with their academic advisors regarding relevant elective course selections. Recommended are courses that provide or reinforce knowledge and skills that will contribute to becoming an effective teacher. Also, note that careful selection of elective courses can lead to a minor (e.g. Biology, Coastal Environmental Science, Mathematics, Psychology, Sociology), making Elementary Education majors more marketable.
