Education Minor

Minoring in Education will open opportunities for teaching and other careers related to your major field of study. The Education minor will help you understand the legal, social, political, and economic forces that influence and shape educational policies.  Additionally, pairing your major with a minor in Education will prepare you to take the Florida Teacher Certification Exams(FTCE).  The practicum opportunities in several courses will give you authentic classroom experiences with students in the public school setting.

Students must complete a total of 21 credit hours with no grade below C- in the following courses:

EDU 202 WI- Introduction to Child and Adolescent Development in the Educational Setting 

EDU 321- General Methods of Instruction

EDU 309- Introduction to Techniques in Exceptionality  *

EDU 355- Tests and Measurements 

EDU 357- Classroom Management  *

SED 363- Principles of Content Reading (Fall Semester)  *

ESL 415- ESOL Curriculum and Materials  *

* Practicum required
